Beautiful photography, as always. Flickr does not do justice to your work.

Really enjoyed this series, Michael.

PS: That cormorant with Lily looks scary... they stay out so far in the river here, always thought they were mean birds!

Now, if I had had a maths teacher like that I might be able to tell you what 13 x 6 is. And I would save a fortune by not repetitively buying Chinese calculators which break down if you try to enter numbers bigger than 12.

My high school maths teacher was 147 years old and had also been my father's teacher. He was of a mathematical bent - genes I didn't inherit - and she berated with me constantly. "Your father would have answered correctly!"

When she told me that "a+b=c", I knew she was insane and gave up. As ivery fule noes, a+b=ab which makes no sense.

Now, I have to tell you my geography teacher was hot! Which possibly explains why I have spent my life travelling the world investigating geographical stuff, but remaining totally unable to tell you how many countries.

Hi Michael, Is there any way to contact you directly? I'm not sure from your website how to reach you. My Liuzhou wife and I are considering a move back after I finish my MA TESOL here in the U.S. next year and I just wanted to get your take on a few things teaching and employment-wise in the area. Feel free to reply to my email address if you like. I'd appreciate it.

Cheers,
Aaron Brown
